Seating Chart Maker

Mix single desks, pairs and tables, move anything, randomize seats and print.

Class list

My Rosters

Preferential seating

Front row, near the door, away from a friend — place those students first and the randomizer works around them.

Tap a name, then tap the seat they need. Locked seats keep their student when you randomize.

Start from a layout

Every layout is built big enough for the whole class list.

Add furniture

Selected desk

Tap a desk, table or the teacher desk on the chart to resize, relabel or move it.

Room

0 of 24 students are seated across 0 seats.

Font

tchrly's standard sheet font. Changes what you print, not tchrly itself.

Tip: this chart is easiest to arrange on a computer. On a phone, tap a desk, then use the arrow buttons in the Selected desk panel above to move it.

How to use it

  1. 1Start from a layout, or pick Blank room and add only the desks and tables your room actually has.
  2. 2Paste your class list or choose a saved roster — seats fill from the names in that panel.
  3. 3Drag any desk, table or the teacher desk to move it. Nudge and resize the selected one in the panel.
  4. 4Randomize to fill seats. Tap one seat then another to swap the two students — both ends lock so the next randomize leaves them alone.
  5. 5Preferential seating: pick a student, then tap the seat they need. Anyone already there swaps into the seat they came from.
  6. 6Tap the padlock on a seat to lock or unlock it yourself.
  7. 7On a phone or tablet, tap a desk and use the arrow buttons in the Selected desk panel — dragging works best on a computer.
